Because the research is clear on the role of sound parenting in the prevention of mental illness, we at Family-Counselling Services regularly take time from our clinical practices to talk about and teach parenting whenever we’re given the forum to do so.
Jane Pfefferlé and Jinger Hayes regularly host Parenting Workshops that encourage and inspire parents to move away from punitive methods of managing children and instead to embrace a philosophy of parenting that sees value in teaching children to manage themselves.
The feedback from those who have taken our courses has consistently been that they understand their role as parents more fully, feel more capable as family leaders, and not unimportantly, feel more supported by other parents around them.
Please be in touch if you have questions about our workshops, would like to be notified about the next series or would like to discuss hosting a workshop for your parent group or organization.
