  • Jinger Hayes is a graduate of the University of Houston with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counselling. She is licensed and nationally certified in the USA and holds a specialisation in Classical Adlerian Depth Psychotherapy through the Alfred Adler Insitute of Northwestern Washington.

Jinger’s clinical focus is on families as a whole and the individual personalities that comprise them, especially as they face issues of adjustment, crisis and transition. Her prior experience includes work with disrupted couples, victims of domestic violence, parental and sibling bereavement, divorce and expatriation, as well as depression, anxiety and adjustment issues in both children and adults. Recognizing the importance of identifying and treating at-risk youth populations, Jinger has completed additional coursework in play therapy and adolescent psychology. She works closely with several of the international schools in Canton Vaud.

Jinger is a passionate advocate for parent education, viewing it as a powerful preventive tool in the field of mental health. As such, she regularly makes time in her clinical schedule to offer experiential workshop series that promote principles of democratic family living.

Before developing her interest in therapy and pursuing her graduate degree, Jinger earned her Bachelor in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She subsequently had a successful career as an accountant and stock analyst during which she came to understand the importance of mentorship, working with recruitment staff to identify, hire and train recent college graduates as they transitioned from academic to professional life.

PLEASE NOTE: As of April 2020, Jinger has relocated to Conifer, CO (USA) where she offers face to face (and online) counselling and psychotherapy. She continues to work via video-conference with European clients in situations in which this is amenable and appropriate.
